From January, 2003 to January 2005, after recognizing the need for more focus on collections of non-NSF returned check items, she had her company develop proprietary software to handle these "hard money" items. Once the software was developed, Ms. Perosi focused her efforts on introducing merchants to ChekXcept's collection software and how ChekXcept places a greater effort on collecting hard money items through more effective technology and unique collection procedures. By January, 2005 the number of companies signing up for the company's collection program grew to 110 merchant clients.
In March 2005, the operation moved into a new location, with two floors of operations. The staff increased to 14 individuals and from March 2005 to March 2006, the company increased its client rooster to 170 businesses. The company has been awarded a certification by the State of Pennsylvania as a women owned business enterprise.
The company is also negotiating with banks, accounting organizations and other professionals to introduce the companies collection program to their customers as a value added service.
The company plans to compete as a collection agency and provider of financial risk solutions in the 21st century by staying abreast of the latest technolgies such as Check 21, Remote Deposit Capture and other electronic collection technologies. The company also plans to enter into credit card collection. The company projects a staff of 25 people and further expansion in the near future.
